Guess coming to Dinner was a good film on interracial relationship; it demonstrates the difficulty people had with interracial marriages. Sidney Poiter played an excellent role as her finance. He was very firm with his father and he confronts his father and Joey’s father in his future relationship with Joey. He is able to persuade them that they are both are in love and their relationship is not a mistake.

"Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" was a warm comedy along with a serious message about interracial marriage. When the film came out in the late 60's interracial marriages in many states were illegal. When the Supreme Court overturned the ruling of Loving v. Virgina(1967) it was the same time when the film came out.
When two people love each other regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. There's more and beyond skin color because the heart has no prejudice, hate, or bias views.
Towards the end of the movie when Spencer Tracy (Joey's Father)spoke about how to accept, embrace, and to love ourselves as well as the ones we fall in love with. The world cannot be based on prejudice, racism, and illegal issues just becuase of one's skin color.

their daughter's happinesss and
avoiding a future hardships for
Joey. I believe that if a couple
love each other, skin color should
not be an obstacle to be happy.

I enjoyed "Guess Who's Coming to Diner? it showed that sometimes you have to make a stand in spite of what others might think. But it's tough when it's your parents. Sometimes when it comes to matters of the heart it is colorless. The actors/actresses did a great job in pulling it together. This movie still lives on today even with our own prejudices when we see interracial couples, what really goes through our minds even years after the civil rights movement?

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner was an interesting film on interracial couples. Sidney Poiter is one of my favorite actors. I enjoy watching his performance. I have nothing against interracial relationships. As a matter of fact my daughter is dating a White American and as long as she's happy i am happy also. At first I couldn't understand why and I questioned her but that is just her preference. My other daughter also prefers White American but she's more flexible than my youngest. I am just happy and thankful that they are not racist, and they choose people by who they are and not the color of their skin. Also, i raised them to be in a way that people are people and not to judge anyone because of their skin color. Getting back to the movie, it was a movie that I would recommend to my daughters as well if you are in an inter racial relationship. I enjoyed the film.

Guess who's coming to dinner is one of my favorite movies with Sidney Poiter and people still have a problem accepting interracial couples. I admired how Sidney was willing to call off the wedding if Joey's parents did not approve, because he loved her enough to let her go and not cause any problems with her and parents. That was my first time actually seeing this movie and it was very good. i have heard about it all the time but never really had the time. it was very good. this movie shows that love will concer all. No matter what race you are, if you love that person you will stand up an fight to be with him/her.
